1 ½ t yeast
3 T sugar
1 ½ c warm water
3-3 ½ c flour (I use 1 1/2 C of wheat flour and 1 1/2 C of white bread flour)
¾ t salt
¼ c butter
Combine yeast, sugar and warm water; let sit about 5 minutes, until yeast is bubbly. Add flour and salt; knead for 3-4 minutes. (Or what Beth does, throw in KitchenAid for about 2 minutes.) Let rest for 20 minutes. While resting, preheat oven to 375 and melt butter in 9x13 pan. Turn dough out onto floured board and pat out to about 8x12. This is a very soft, sticky dough. With pizza cutter, cut into about 12 breadsticks. Roll in butter in pan. If you want, sprinkle with garlic and/or herbs. Bake for 22-25 minutes.
